NGO Ignition Boot Camp – Session One

Post-Training Report
Date: 24th SEPTEMBER, 2025

Venue: City Lbrary Wuse Zone 4

Theme of the Training

Project Management in the Development Space Hads on Training

Overview

We successfully held the first session of the NGO Ignition Boot Camp today. The training was focused on helping NGO leaders understand and apply the principles of project management in their work.

The session was facilitated by Mr. Adeyemi Asaba, Lead Consultant at VS Management & Consulting, Canada, in partnership with Coverlores Hub. His experience and practical approach gave participants the right balance of knowledge and real-life tools they can start using immediately.

What Participants Learnt

The training covered:

The fundamentals of project management.

Practical tools and checklists for project success.

How to define clear action points for their initiatives.

Ready-to-use templates for planning, implementation, and reporting.

Skills for team development and stakeholder engagement.

How to ideate solutions and plan resources effectively.

One key insight that stood out was that money is not the first thing needed for a successful project. The real starting point is to properly understand the problem you want to solve. Once the problem is clear, the right resources and support will follow.

Participation and Experience

At the end of the session, participants held a lively and engaging discussion. They shared what they had learnt and promised to put their action points into practice, especially in addressing pressing social issues in Abuja.

Everyone agreed that the tools and insights gained will help them work better within their communities. The energy in the room was very high, and many participants described it as the best class they have attended in a long time. There was a strong sense of excitement and commitment to apply the new knowledge, and many are already looking forward to next week’s session.

Key Outcomes

Participants now have practical tools and templates they can start using immediately.

Each leader developed specific action points for their organization.

Stronger networking and peer learning among participants.

Renewed commitment to addressing social problems within Abuja.

Next Steps

Participants will begin implementing their action points.

Follow-up resources and mentorship will be shared.

Planning for Session Two of the NGO Ignition Boot Camp is ongoing.

Conclusion
